Viridian Gym (トキワジム; Tokiwa Gym) is the official gym of Viridian City.
Overview[]
Viridian Gym first appears in VS Machoke, where Red and Professor Oak pursue a runaway Saur. Upon entering - and passing a sign reading "Closed" - the two find an abandoned building ripe with spider webs, darkness, and a general lack of an inviting atmosphere. It's here that Red first notes a mysterious bust of what is presumed to be the gym's former leader. After battling a wild Machoke and recapturing Saur, the two leave the abandoned building.
